Graduate Lounge in Fellows is a social and meeting space for ANU graduate students located downstairs in University House (Building 1) next to the Fellows Café and Bar. The Lounge offers a great space to meet friends, make new friends, study or simply relax.
Throughout the year, Graduate Lounge hosts a variety of events for graduate students. These provide great opportunities for students to meet others across all disciplines, whether social events, or discussions on various graduate study or research related topics. All events provide opportunities to compare notes and air any concerns in a confidential environment.
Graduate Lounge offers Wi-Fi on the ANU Access and ANU Secure networks and has a TV monitor that can be connected to a laptop via a VGA cable. A selection of magazines and various board games are available within Graduate Lounge for student use. We encourage graduate students to enjoy Graduate Lounge with friends, or as a quiet place to work if no one else has booked the room.
Monthly and weekly calendars displaying all Graduate Lounge events are available in the “Upcoming events” tab on the left. A wide range of events are held in Graduate Lounge, from evolutionary biology discussions to language exchange groups, so be sure to read through our calendars to stay up to date.
Some Graduate Lounge events are advertised on the University’s official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/TheAustralianNationalUniversity) and on the ANU Student Services Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/ANUstudentserv). You may also receive monthly email updates.
All graduate students (research and coursework) are welcome to enjoy Graduate Lounge during University House open hours 7 am - 8 pm Monday to Friday, and 7am - 10 am Saturday and Sunday. Wi-Fi is available in Graduate Lounge on the ANU Access and ANU Secure networks.
Please note that only food and drink purchased at University House may be consumed in Graduate Lounge.
